A Holistic, Integrated Approach to Safety, Health and Environmental Improvement Preventing Accidents, Injuries and Incidents - On and Off the Job!

 With the emphasis on safety, health and the environment in companies today, people generally know both what to do and what not to do regarding their safety, health and protecting the environment. Yet, with all of this knowledge of rules and regulations and safety do’s and don’ts, people are still getting hurt and health and environmental incidents occur!! Although traditional safety strategies and procedures  including protective equipment, job re-design, procedures, campaigns, motivational programs and awards have had success in reducing accidents, injuries and incidents in the past, they yield diminishing returns. Improved strategies in these areas will continue to only marginally increase safety, health and environmental performance.

A greater effect may be achieved by directly addressing personal risk behaviors. When we began to investigate this issue in 1983, we asked the following question:

 WHICH BASIC HUMAN ATTITUDES & BEHAVIORS, IF EFFECTIVELY ADDRESSED, WILL PREVENT ACCIDENTS, INJURIES & HEALTH/ENVIRONMENTAL INCIDENTS BOTH ON AND OFF-THE-JOB?

 As a result of our research into this question, TOPF Initiatives has developed an innovative, practical, and comprehensive process to prevent accidents, injuries and incidents on and off the job.

Participants increase awareness of their roles and responsibilities for the safety of themselves, each other, and their organization. They are thus empowered to continually improve safety, health and environmental performance. THE TOPF INITIATIVE enhances and complements other safety programs, activities, and strategies by providing a context of responsibility and a variety of methods and skills for managing critical safety behaviors and issues. Our process contributes to enhancing the culture of an organization to the extent that safety, health.

TOPF INITIATIVES PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DESIGNED HELP OUR CLIENTS ACHIEVE OUTSTANDING CULTURE ALIGNMENT AND SAFETY PERFORMANCE.

RANGING FROM A FULL S, H & E INITIATIVE TO INDIVIDUAL TRAINING OFFERINGS, OUR GOAL IS TO ASSURE THAT THE RESULTS ARE RAPID AND SUSTAINABLE, AND TRACKED BY QUANTIFIABLE METRICS.

A FULL TOPF INITIATIVE INCLUDES ALL THE TRAINING PROCESSES DESCRIBED BELOW.
